The last 40 km are winding hill roads — beautiful in daylight, slow after dark. If you land in the evening, consider a night near the airport and driving up fresh in the morning.
Thekkady sits around 1,100 m — days are mild (20–28°C) and nights can be cool. Bring a light jacket year-round, rain protection June–September, and comfortable walking shoes always.
